ibex opens its fifth BPO campus in Jamaica in five years
“ The tremendous growth being fueled by increased client demand , technology innovation and new wins with Blue Chip and New Economy customers has helped us create more than 1,500 jobs in Jamaica this year alone and placed the island at the center of the BPO 2.0 revolution ,” said Jaime Vergara , Senior Vice President and Jamaica Country Manager , ibex .
Since opening its first site in 2016 , ibex has invested more than USD $ 50 million capital in Jamaica , increased employment from 200 jobs to more than 6,500 and enhanced the overall health and quality of life for its employees by investing more than USD $ 40 million in annual salaries . ibex , a global leader in Business Process Outsourcing ( BPO ) and endto-end customer engagement technology solutions , has announced the opening of its new campus location in Portmore , Jamaica .
With the opening of the campus , ibex now has a total of more than 5,000 seats in Jamaica across its five facilities in Ocho Rios , Portmore and Kingston .
The new facility will create 1,300 digitally-enabled jobs , bringing the company ’ s total employment on the island to more than 6,500 people .
More than 500 of these positions will be utilized to support ibex ’ s rapid growth in the company ’ s insurance sector .
NEC expands its collaboration with AWS in 5G and digital government
NEC has expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services ( AWS ) in areas that include global 5G and digital government in support of accelerating Digital Transformation for customers .
In November 2020 , NEC and AWS concluded a corporate-level strategic collaboration agreement , and have been developing offerings and strengthening delivery capabilities since then .
Toshifumi Yoshizaki , Executive Vice President at NEC Corporation , said : “ NEC is pleased to announce the expansion of its strategic collaboration with AWS . Last year , NEC announced this global collaboration as the first of its kind between AWS and a Japanese company .
