Kaspersky helps universities and laboratories advance industrial cybersecurity research
Kaspersky has launched a dedicated collaboration programme to help institutions become better equipped at understanding the latest and most prevalent industrial cybersecurity threats .
By joining the programme , educational institutions , laboratories , research departments , security operations centres ( SOC ) and emergency response teams ( CERT and CSIRT ), that meet the partner profile criteria , will be able to improve how they conduct their research and train cybersecurity specialists using the Kaspersky Industrial Cybersecurity solution for free .
Industrial organisations keep facing the challenge of how to defend their industrial control systems ( ICS ) from a wide range of attacks . For instance , Kaspersky ’ s solutions helped to block malicious objects on nearly half ( 46 %) of ICS computers worldwide in 2019 . With this in mind , laboratories and institutions are constantly working to create methods that reduce the risks to industrial processes and systems and develop requirements for safe industrial processes .
By closely collaborating with vendors , researchers who embrace dedicated security solutions can yield better results and foster the capabilities industrial organisations need to detect and defend themselves against the latest cyberthreats .
US Department of Defense selects Carahsoft and Red Hat to provide OpenJDK support
Carahsoft Technology has announced that the US Department of Defense ( DoD ) Enterprise Software Initiative ( ESI ) has awarded Carahsoft an Agency Catalog Agreement .
This is to provide OpenJDK software solutions through Carahsoft ’ s NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement ( SEWP ) V contract .
Under the Agency Catalog Agreement , Carahsoft will provide Red Hat OpenJDK software subscriptions , maintenance and support to the DoD , US Intelligence Community and Coast Guard .
“ Red Hat ’ s stewardship of OpenJDK allows communities of developers and users the ability to freely deploy Java to drive innovation within their environments and keeps with our ethos of making software technology open , supported and available ,” said Kevin Griffith , Senior Director of DoD Sales at Red Hat .
Carahsoft will promote Red Hat ’ s Agency Catalog award by leveraging its sales , marketing and contract management capabilities . In addition to these activities , Carahsoft will provide a designated program manager to support the catalog and facilitate the procurement process , as well as provide regular reviews and reports .
DoD ESI awarded the Agency Catalog Agreement based on Carahsoft ’ s competitive pricing for Red Hat ’ s OpenJDK solutions , leading technical capabilities and support for Java development across operating systems .
