Viasat was on the guest list when Virgin Atlantic ’ s new Airbus A330neo aircraft made its inaugural London – Tampa Bay VIP flight as provider of both paid and free Internet access .
Virgin Atlantic describes its latest planes as state-of-the-art – with California-based Viasat ’ s in-flight connectivity ( IFC ) system hailed as ‘ the airline ’ s fastest ever Wi-Fi .’ While any passenger who wishes to purchase a Wi-Fi session can do so while flying on Virgin Atlantic ’ s A330neo planes , Virgin Atlantic partnered with Viasat to also offer passengers certain free , ad-supported , time-based Wi-Fi sessions allowing passengers to use the Internet the way they would at home .
Ultan O ’ Brien , Viasat ’ s Head of Global Inflight Entertainment , said : “ Our goal is to enhance the overall experience for passengers on Virgin Atlantic , we ’ re working with third-party sponsors to get passengers more ad-supported free Internet services on board .”

Wasabi Technologies has introduced Wasabi Surveillance Cloud , a solution enabling the offload of video surveillance footage from local storage environments directly to the cloud without ever running out of capacity . This ‘ bottomless ’ approach to video storage is vital for a surveillance industry currently struggling to manage enormous amounts of video in high resolution environments , increasingly large file sizes , stringent regulatory and retention requirements , and business and analytics applications tied to surveillance .
IDC ’ s Video Surveillance Survey 2022 shows a growing number of enterprises expect their video surveillance storage requirements will increase over the next three years . However , the cost of updating existing technology stacks is prohibitive .

Mark43 has achieved State Risk and Authorization Management Program ( StateRAMP ) ‘ In Process ’ designation , demonstrating commitment to the highest levels of security controls in its cloud-native public safety technology platform . This designation verifies Mark43 ’ s rigorous security posture and industry-leading standards of compliance and application monitoring . Mark43 expects to reach full StateRAMP authorization later this year through the ‘ Fast Track ’ process . This is a special process specifically designed for cloud providers like Mark43 that have received a FedRAMP Provisional Authority to Operate ( P-ATO ).
