TLSN selects Ribbon ’ s IP Wave solutions to expand network capacity

TLSN , a consortium of 41 rural broadband service providers in

Texas , has selected Ribbon to expand capacity in its state-wide transport network .

TLSN is leveraging Ribbon ’ s compact Apollo 9603 platform with the TM400 _ 2 ( dual 400G transponder ) to provide alien wavelengths overlay on the existing ROADM transport network and connect rural and other underserved communities throughout Texas .
The TM400 _ 2 will initially be deployed in 200G coherent mode with 100GbE clients . As service requirements increase over time , the TM400 _ 2 can be repurposed to support 400G links with 400GbE clients . TLSN and its members further benefit from 24 / 7 US-based support .

Children ’ s Hospital Los Angeles confirms Conrad Band as permanent CIO

Conrad Band has been named permanent Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer ( CIO ) at Children ’ s Hospital Los Angeles ( CHLA ) – having held interim role since May 2021 . Band will oversee all CHLA Information Services ( IS ) teams as well as key vendors that provide technology solutions for CHLA .

The role partners closely with research , academic and data leadership to collectively drive strategic utilization of data and supporting technologies ; leads enterprise-wide communications on the progress and performance of IT initiatives and planning to enhance and support clinical and business applications , cybersecurity , voice ( phone ) and other network infrastructure and services . “ Being named to the permanent CIO is a testament to Conrad ’ s contribution and leadership throughout his tenure at CHLA ,” said Lara Khouri , MBA , MPH , Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Children ’ s Hospital Los Angeles .
