Cologix has announced an expansion with the Montreal Internet Exchange ( QIX ) to establish an additional Point of Presence in the Cologix MTL7 digital edge data center . This expanded partnership enables valuable interconnection access for businesses in the Montréal region . QIX has maintained a presence in Cologix facilities for over a decade , serving as a hub for internet peering at Cologix ’ s MTL1 and MTL3 digital edge data centers . This new expansion continues the trend of significant growth in additional Cologix facilities .
“ This growing partnership between QIX and Cologix is driven by a shared mission to streamline the sharing of internet traffic to empower digital ecosystems at the edge ,” said Cologix ’ s Head of Product Peg Hallberg . The MTL7 digital edge data center is 26,000 square feet , located in downtown Montréal and connected to the MTL3 carrier hotel facility and 10 additional Cologix Montréal data centers across the city via Metro Connect .

Pure Storage has opened its new global corporate headquarters in Santa Clara , California . In the last year , Pure Storage ’ s customer base has surpassed 11,500 customers , with annual revenue reaching a milestone of $ 2.8 billion USD . The new state-of-the-art space , designed with sustainability in mind , will serve customers and employees , while accommodating headcount growth as the company continues its strong growth trajectory and invests in talent .
The new HQ includes workspace purpose-built for Pure Storage ’ s engineercentric and team-oriented mindset and a next-gen lab and training centre . The building itself has sustainability woven throughout its design , functionality and daily use , featuring EV charging stations , solar panels , waste-reducing conservation efforts and will rely entirely on renewable energy from next year . To mark the move , Pure Storage ’ s corporate foundation Pure Good has made a grant to Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and will be supporting the organisation with company-led volunteerism .

Ericsson has unveiled a new smart and sustainable 5G site in Plano , Texas , showcasing its complete energy-smart network solution . The proof-of-concept site is pitched as having the potential to be fully powered by solar energy complemented by integrated Lithium-ion batteries for up to a 24-hour period .
Kevin Zvokel , Senior Vice President and Head of Networks , Ericsson North America , said : “ Operators can now utilize untapped assets , thanks to this technology , creating new energy cost savings opportunities .” Showcasing the latest in hybrid energy management , the site also has the potential to be utilized as a test bed to trial radio hardware and software solutions that improve energy efficiency in conjunction with smart-site solutions . It opens additional avenues for exploration , including collaboration with utility companies in areas such as grid frequency , voltage regulation and demand response .
