As comparative context to the US stats , the survey reported country-specific findings :
Germany
• 84 % of Germans agree that flexible work makes them a happier employee
• 77 % said that the ability to work flexibly would impact their decision on whether to apply for a job
• Flexible hours are the most important aspect of work across all age groups ( 80 %+) with the older GenX and Boomers ranking it as even more important ( 87 %) compared to Gen Z and younger Millennials ( 80 %)
United Kingdom
• 88 % of UK respondents agree that flexible work makes them a happier employee
• 78 % said that the ability to work flexibly would impact their decision on whether to apply for a job
Singapore
• 87 % of Singaporeans agree that flexible work makes them a happier employee
• 73 % of Singaporeans rank flexible hours and location on par with professional development opportunities
• 74 % would consider leaving their job for another company if that meant they would get a more flexible working environment
Australia
• 88 % of Australians agree that flexible work makes them a happier employee
• 76 % of Gen X and Boomer Australians flexible hours and location matter the most – compared to 71 % of Gen Z and Millennials
The survey was conducted among 4,000 Knowledge Workers from February 3 – 24 , 2023 .
Data in this survey were weighted to match an approximate proportion of knowledge workers per country with a +/– 2 % margin of error for all countries . p
