Nokia has announced a partnership with the Sanmina Corporation to manufacture fiber-optic broadband electronics products for BEAD program at the Sanmina Pleasant Prairie facility in Kenosha County , Wisconsin – to start in 2024 . Having access to technology built in the US is a key requirement for states and infrastructure players seeking to participate in BEAD and the $ 42.45bn of available funding allocated for broadband rollouts to unserved and underserved communities .

ALABAMA
Sentar , a Huntsville based small business specializing in advanced cyber intelligence solutions and technology , has received a US Department of Energy grant to increase cyber-resilience in nuclear reactors .
Under the Phase I Small Business Innovation Research ( SBIR ) grant , Sentar will develop a proof-of-concept solution intended to inform key nuclear plant stakeholders of predicted and observable operational performance disruptions that result from specific cyberattacks . The effort is intended to promote cyberresilience in nuclear power plant environments – resulting in safer operations , updated facility and technology designs that prioritize cybersecurity and preventative and restorative efforts following a cyberattack .
“ Cyber-resilience and reliability must become an operational imperative for critical infrastructure ,” said Gary Mayes , Senior Director of Research and Development at Sentar . “ We are excited about the opportunity to work with the Department of Energy to bring an innovative solution to meet a critical need . “
