US Navy chooses Trellix to protect Navy Enterprise Grid from stealth cyber threats

like IPS are critical for both establishing baseline network behavior patterns and advantage of response capabilities to remediate the threat of suspicious network traffic . With Trellix IPS , they have a nextgeneration intrusion detection and prevention system that discovers and blocks sophisticated threats across the network .”
Building on a decades-long relationship between the organizations , the Navy is transitioning to the latest Trellix IPS technology for the following benefits :

The US Navy has procured Trellix Intrusion Prevention System ( IPS ) to modernize security across the Navy Enterprise Grid .

Trellix IPS is a key element in a larger Network Detect and Response ( NDR ) solution that helps large organizations focus on sophisticated attack campaigns , contain intrusions with speed and intelligence , and eliminate cybersecurity weak points .
Gareth Maclachlan , Chief Product Officer , Trellix , said : “ As the Navy moves toward full adoption of NDR , network defense mainstays
• Superior detection : Offers advanced detection and emulation techniques , moving beyond traditional pattern matching to defend against stealthy attacks with a high degree of accuracy .
• Seamless protection : Scalable architecture designed for hybrid networks with the ability to protect both physical and virtual environments .
• Simplified management : Provides coordinated detection and inline response across the entire environment
• Further deepening the relationship between Trellix and the Navy , Trellix IPS is the first enterprise technology solution to operate under the Government Owned , Government Operated , Contractor Supported ( GoGoCS ) model designed to modernize legacy infrastructure while also improving efficiency and cost effectiveness .

US Navy awards Comtech $ 50m SLM-5650B modem contract

The US Navy Information Warfare Systems Command has awarded a sole source contract for Comtech ’ s US sovereign software-defined SLM-5650B satellite communications ( SATCOM ) modems , upgrade kits , firmware options and technical support .

The contract has a four-year period of performance and is valued in excess of $ 50m . Funded orders received to date are valued at approximately $ 2 million . networks and are critical for interoperability across Navy platforms and shore sites .
“ As data rate demands in the US Navy Fleet increase , and satellite technologies evolve to provide enhanced capabilities , Comtech ’ s U . S . sovereign SLM-5650B modems are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the Navy today , as well as the joint force operations of tomorrow ,” said John Ratigan , President and CEO , Comtech . “
Currently , multiple US Navy programs field thousands of Comtech SATCOM modems . Comtech ’ s commercially available modems support communications over commercial and military satellite
The Company was also recently awarded a strategically significant SES Space & Defense contract to deliver SLM-5650B and other nextgeneration modems to support sovereign connectivity programs over the SES O3b mPOWER constellation .
Comtech ’ s portfolio of US sovereign defense technologies and services , including the Company ’ s SLM-5650B and next-generation modems , align with the Space Force Commercial Space Strategy and deliver capabilities that will enhance Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control operations . Comtech ’ s expansive portfolio of defense and security technologies is designed to continuously evolve over time to enable digitalized SATCOM infrastructures and integrate services across blended military and commercial networks to enhance mission effectiveness in future all-domain operations . p
