Nokia and BerryComm, a leading fiber-optic broadband provider in Central Indiana, have announced the deployment of an enhanced high-speed internet connectivity for thousands of homes and businesses. This initiative, powered by Nokia’ s advanced optical networking technology, reinforces BerryComm’ s mission to provide reliable, high-capacity broadband services to underserved communities.
The expansion utilizes Nokia’ s 1830 Photonic Service Switch( PSS) with coherent optics and Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer( ROADM) technologies, ensuring superior network scalability and reliability. This deployment allows BerryComm to maintain complete control over service quality while reducing dependence on external carriers for last-mile connectivity.
Beyond residential customers, the enhanced network supports businesses with mission-critical connectivity solutions, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency. With this infrastructure, BerryComm can seamlessly scale to 100G and beyond as bandwidth demands continue to grow.
“ The deployment of Nokia’ s ROADM technology marks a significant milestone in our mission to bridge the digital divide across Central Indiana. This cutting-edge technology enhances our ability to deliver reliable, high-speed internet while positioning our network for future growth,” said Cory Childs, President, BerryComm.
Hexagon has acquired the Geomagic software business from 3D Systems, a move set to transform how manufacturers capture, manipulate and reverse engineer 3D data across the product lifecycle.
Hexagon plans to invest heavily in the platform, expanding support for all hardware partners and integrating new capabilities for its global customer base.
Integrated into its Manufacturing Intelligence division, the Geomagic software solutions will be supported and sold to the discrete manufacturing market – complementing portfolios in Hexagon’ s other markets such as mining and construction. The suite comprises software for measurement and quality control, mesh and surface model creation and parametric scan-to-CAD workflows for highly efficient reverse engineering.
Josh Weiss, President at Hexagon’ s Manufacturing Intelligence division, said:“ We will continue to support all hardware and software partnerships for Geomagic customers. We will invest in developing and supporting this software with our considerable expertise and IP to offer our portable metrology device users greater productivity and new capabilities.”

Cloudflare has acquired Outerbase pitching enhancement of the developer database experience across Cloudflare Workers.
“ Businesses are racing to build AI-powered applications to be as productive, innovative, and competitive as possible. Our goal is to make it easy and accessible for any developer, regardless of expertise, to build database-backed applications that can scale,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO, Cloudflare.
“ Outerbase’ s technology and design expertise are an important factor in accelerating this improved developer experience.”
Outerbase itself is built on Cloudflare Workers, making it easy for the technology to rapidly be incorporated directly into Durable Objects, D1 and Cloudflare’ s Agents SDK.
Brandon Strittmatter, co-founder and CEO of Outerbase, said:“ We’ ve built Outerbase on top of Cloudflare, so this next step feels natural. Now, we get to take what we’ ve built and make it part of the platform itself. I’ m beyond excited about this opportunity.”
