This month we lead on how AEC specialist Pond built a better remote working experience with Lenovo.
The full-service architecture, engineering, planning, construction management and environmental services firm – with several mid-size offices across the US and many smaller satellite offices – delivered a huge performance boost for remote users bringing desktop performance into its own in-house data center with Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Ultra workstations.
Post pandemic, Pond was keen to preserve its flexible working practices. To make this a viable option, the company needed a way to elevate performance.
On p56, Patrick Mclaughlin, Director of Virtual Design & Construction, Pond, outlines how that elevation is on the up.
A partnership between Televeda, Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services( ADVS) and the Navajo Nation is expanding access to on-line services for tribal veterans.
The Roger That project provides Starlink internet kits to veterans across Arizona’ s 22 federally recognized tribes – equipping them with the tools to ensure they are not left behind in the digital age.
Read about this worthy salute to their service on p61.
Broadband Nation, in partnership with the Telecommunications Industry Association( TIA) and Fierce Network’ s parent company Questex, is spearheading a major initiative to build the skilled workforce necessary to upgrade Florida’ s communications infrastructure to ensure every Floridian has access to high-speed reliable internet.
With the influx of government investments such as the BEAD program, there is a historic opportunity to expand high-speed internet access across the US ensuring that every resident has reliable, affordable connectivity by 2030.
Florida has been allocated $ 1.16 billion in BEAD funds to help achieve this goal – read on p48 how that’ s being spent.
In Get to Know on p79 Mark Holzberg, CEO, Cloud5 Communications, tells what time in tech has taught him so far.
All this and more – enjoy the read.
