American Tower debuts Edge Data Center in Raleigh, North Carolina

American Tower’ s global portfolio includes more than 149,000 communications sites.
Through American Tower’ s acquisition of CoreSite, the company also has a highly interconnected footprint of US data center facilities, along with two decades of expertise providing colocation data center services.
The Raleigh Data Center is located at the base of American Tower’ s existing cellular tower and provides mobile network operators, cloud service providers and content delivery networks the ability to extend services into a new market through advanced connectivity.

Raleigh, North Carolina – within the state’ s renowned Research Triangle region of Raleigh, North Carolina’ s renowned Research Triangle metro area.
Raleigh consistently ranks among the top tech cities in the US and it’ s also home to life sciences and drug discovery research and academic institutions.
The Raleigh facility can scale rapidly to deliver multiple megawatts of power at full capacity. On average, the facility offers 15 kilowatts of power per rack.
To continue the momentum established in Raleigh, American Tower has identified more than 1,000 of its sites that can handle multiple megawatts of power and are technically feasible for future edge data center development. While the company says not all will be pursued, the portfolio is pitched as providing a strong foundation for evaluating where edge infrastructure can best meet emerging demand.

C3 AI US Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office contract award increased to $ 450 million

The United States Air Force( USAF) Rapid Sustainment Office( RSO) has raised the C3 AI contract ceiling to $ 450 million through October 2029. earned distinction as the US Air Force RSO’ s system of record for predictive maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance Plus( CBM +).

The additional $ 350 million in available scope supports the scaling of C3 AI’ s predictive analytics and aircraft maintenance platform across the service’ s fleet and systems.
Initially C3 AI was awarded a $ 100 million ceiling, which has been fully utilized to deploy PANDA, a predictive maintenance platform that delivers near-real-time insights by monitoring components on hundreds of aircraft, including the B1 – B Lancer, C-5 Galaxy, KC-135 Stratotanker, C-17 Globemaster III and C-130J Super Hercules.
The highly favored platform supports a DoD-wide initiative to improve fleet availability and reduce lifecycle costs through improved readiness.
The collaboration has significantly improved availability, driven down costs and reduced unscheduled maintenance for hundreds of aircraft across the Air Force enterprise. p
“ We believe our program with RSO may be the largest production AI deployment in the US DoD,” said Ed Abbo, Chief Technology Officer, C3 AI.
“ At the scale of the US Air Force, this system has the potential to increase aircraft availability by up to 25 %.”
