A slower frontier gives us space to focus on the optimizations that matter most for enterprise adoption. The real progress now lies in embedding AI securely and reliably into business processes: strengthening security and access controls, building monitoring and evaluation frameworks, grounding outputs in authoritative data, enabling more agentic behavior, and developing systems that can continually learn from feedback.
The hardest and most valuable work ahead will not be training the next trillion-parameter model. It will be reworking human processes to be AI-native – designing workflows, governance, and decisionmaking structures that assume AI as a core participant.
For policymakers and business leaders, this moment should be seen not as an‘ AI winter’ but as a maturation. The post-scale era is less about chasing benchmarks and more about ensuring that the technology we already have works safely, efficiently, and in service of real human needs. p
