FEATURE: SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT duplicated‘ copypasta’ code since 2022 and found 70 % of AI-generated code was rewritten within two weeks. In other words, haste makes waste- or at least rework – if not properly managed.
The goal is vibe coding without the downside vibes: creativity and speed minus unchecked risk.
The five-stage pipeline: From intent to observability
To institutionalise this a five-stage pipeline was established that every AI-generated artefact must pass before it‘ earns’ production. Each stage is designed to add a layer of trustworthiness so that speed doesn’ t outrun safety.
1. Intent Capture » Define the what. Start with plain-language intents or user stories( for example,‘ add secure checkout with face-ID’). Ambiguity is surfaced early. This ensures clarity on what the AI is being asked to do and defines acceptance criteria. It’ s easier to catch misalignment at intent time than after code is written.
2. AI Synthesis » Generate the draft. The AI produces a first cut: code, config, test cases. The goal is speed – compress idea to working prototype in hours – but treat this output as untrusted by default. The AI is the junior coder: fast but prone to mistakes. This
