IBM taps NVIDIA AI Data Platform technologies to accelerate AI at scale
IBM has announced new collaborations with NVIDIA.
The collaborations include integrations based on the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference design to help enterprises more effectively put their data to work to help build, scale and manage generative AI workloads and agentic AI applications.
IBM is planning to launch a content-aware storage capability for its hybrid cloud infrastructure offering, IBM Fusion; intends to expand its watsonx integrations; and is introducing new IBM Consulting capabilities with NVIDIA to help drive AI innovation across the enterprise.
The collaboration with NVIDIA will enable IBM to provide hybrid AI solutions that take advantage of open technologies and platforms while also supporting data management, performance, security, and governance.
Leveraging the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference architecture, these new solutions are the latest in the IBM and NVIDIA collaboration to build enterprise infrastructure for AI.
Hillery Hunter, CTO and General Manager of Innovation, IBM Infrastructure, said:“ Together, IBM and NVIDIA are collaborating to create and offer the solutions, services and technology to unlock, accelerate, and protect data – ultimately helping clients overcome AI’ s hidden costs and technical hurdles to monetize AI and drive real business outcomes.”
Rob Davis, Vice President, Storage Networking Technology, NVIDIA, said:“ The integration of IBM’ s content-aware storage with NVIDIA AI orchestrates data and compute across an optimized network fabric to overcome silos with an intelligent, scalable system that drives near real-time inference for responsive AI reasoning.”
NextSilicon named to Fast Company’ s list of the world’ s most innovative companies of 2025
to the specific needs of each application without requiring complex code rewrites or intensive manual optimization.
By leveraging advanced telemetry and proprietary algorithms, the Maverick-2 creates a temporary, software-defined processor on the hardware that is tailored to run each specific application.
NextSilicon, a pioneer in high-performance computing( HPC) innovation, has been named to Fast Company’ s prestigious list of the World’ s Most Innovative Companies of 2025.
This recognition highlights the significant technological achievements of the Maverick-2 chip, the industry’ s first intelligent compute architecture( ICA).
Introduced in October 2024, Maverick-2 represents a revolutionary shift in computing, moving beyond the limitations of traditional CPUs and GPUs in combining intelligent, software-defined hardware with real-time optimization to deliver superior performance, efficiency and flexibility across any workload. Maverick-2 can dynamically adapt
Designed for HPC, AI)/ ML and vector databases, Maverick-2 can adapt to each application’ s specific requirements, which results in up to 4x the performance-per-watt of traditional GPUs and more than 20x that of high-end CPUs.
Maverick-2’ s powerful developer tools avoid the need for application porting and vendor lock-in, while also providing a future-proof infrastructure to meet evolving workloads.
“ ICA marks the beginning of a new era, where yesterday’ s compute architectures no longer constrain the pace of future innovation,” said Elad Raz, Founder and CEO, NextSilicon.
“ Receiving this honor from Fast Company is a testament to the groundbreaking work our team has achieved with Maverick-2 in pushing the boundaries of computing.”
