Gartner: All IT work will involve AI by 2030
By the end of the decade, every piece of IT work will involve artificial intelligence in some form, according to new research from Gartner.
A survey of more than 700 CIOs found that by 2030, 75 % of IT work will be done by humans augmented with AI, while the remaining 25 % will be carried out by AI alone. Speaking at the Gartner IT Symposium / Xpo 2025, analysts warned that most organizations are still unprepared to capture the full value of AI.“ While not all AI is ready to deliver value, humans are even less ready to capture it,” said Alicia Mullery, VP Analyst, Gartner.
The firm argues that companies must develop both AI readiness – the maturity of their tools and technologies – and human readiness, which focuses on workforce skills and adaptability.
