Vibrint accelerates growth with $ 1.2 billion in wins delivering advanced technology to national security customers

Vibrint, a leading innovator in defense technology solutions, has been awarded three federal contracts worth more than $ 1.2 billion over seven years to advance high-performance computing( HPC) and mission IT capabilities for US national security customers.

The awards mark a major milestone in the company’ s rapid growth and strengthen its role in supporting critical defense and intelligence missions. Vibrint expects to nearly double in size and is actively hiring more than 100 fully funded, full-time engineering professionals.
“ These opportunities will allow us to continue reshaping the technology landscape of Defense and Intelligence,” said Vibrint CEO Tom Lash.
Under the contracts, Vibrint will deliver secure, reliable and highly available products and services that support essential operational and analytical systems. The scope includes full lifecycle engineering, modernization and sustainment of complex HPC environments, integration of hybrid and advanced platforms, specialized support for mission-unique systems and enterprise coordination across multiple sites.
The company will provide program management, systems engineering, software development, storage engineering, systems administration, cybersecurity engineering, hardware support and solutions architecture across more than 15 task areas and three locations.
Vibrint will collaborate with government stakeholders, over 30 subcontractors and seven OEM partners to ensure alignment with national security requirements and evolving technology roadmaps.
These contracts will expand the workforce to nearly 350 professionals. The company recently opened a 15,000-squarefoot office in Reston, Virginia, supporting continued growth and operations nationwide.
Vibrint is headquartered in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, with additional offices in Hanover, Maryland, as well as in New Jersey, Virginia and Utah.

IonQ achieves key photonic interconnect milestone, demonstrating networked quantum systems using entanglement

IonQ has reached a foundational milestone in quantum computing by successfully photonically interconnecting two independent trapped-ion systems – demonstrating networked quantum computers for the first time in a commercial context.

The achievement represents a critical step toward scaling quantum computing beyond the limits of a single processor and into distributed architectures.
By linking two remote systems, IonQ validated the full process of generating, transmitting and detecting photons to establish entanglement between separate quantum computers. This confirms that photonic interconnects can preserve coherence across distance, enabling coordinated quantum operations between nodes.
The result builds on prior laboratory demonstrations and reinforces the viability of modular, networked trappedion platforms.
IonQ CEO Niccolo de Masi said the breakthrough advances IonQ’ s roadmap from standalone processors to scalable quantum networks – a key requirement for a future quantum internet.
Distributed architectures are expected to unlock higher computational capacity and tackle complex problems that exceed the capability of single-chip systems.
The demonstration also highlights the repeatability and reliability of IonQ’ s hardware as it progresses toward faulttolerant systems using networked qubits. The work was partially funded by the US Air Force Research Laboratory, reflecting continued collaboration with government and defense partners.
IonQ’ s broader momentum includes progress in DARPA’ s quantum benchmarking initiative, expansion of its federal division and industry-leading performance, including a reported 99.99 % two-qubit gate fidelity.
Together, these developments position IonQ at the forefront of scalable, high-performance quantum computing innovation. The advances signal growing confidence in practical quantum networking and accelerate the timeline for real-world enterprise and scientific applications worldwide.
