Xoople and L3Harris announce codevelopment of unprecedented spaceborne measurement system for AI era
Xoople, the AI data infrastructure company for physical change on Earth, and L3Harris Technologies, a global defense tech company, have co-developed a first of its kind satellite constellation designed and optimised for the AI era.
The milestone, the result of seven years of design and R & D work, advances the companies’ shared vision to deliver real-world context into every decision for a more sustainable, safer world.
The Xoople constellation, with its unprecedented optical and sensor design which maximises data quality, is a foundational layer of the company’ s data infrastructure, designed to improve spatial intelligence by delivering orders-of-magnitude improvements in precision and speed compared to existing commercial Earth observation.
As AI systems shift from analysis to autonomous action through agentic workflows, demand for reliable, easily ingestible ground-truth data about the physical world is expected to accelerate rapidly.
Xoople calls its infrastructure Earth’ s System of Record, a platform enabling enterprises and governments to understand and act on real-world change, from optimising supply chains and managing infrastructure to underwriting risk, disaster response, and geopolitical and security monitoring.
The announcement reflects a broader shift in digital transformation, where physical world data must be continuously captured, verified, and translated into actionable intelligence.
By integrating advanced sensing capabilities with scalable data platforms, the companies aim to support use cases requiring near real-time awareness and high accuracy.
Industries including logistics, energy, insurance and the public sector can benefit, where timely insights improve outcomes and reduce risk.
Wasabi to acquire Seagate Lyve Cloud business to expand enterprise storage capabilities
Wasabi Technologies has announced plans to acquire
Seagate’ s Lyve Cloud business, marking a significant step in expanding its position in the global cloud storage market. The agreement will see Seagate receive equity in Wasabi, becoming a shareholder, while financial details remain undisclosed.
The acquisition brings together Lyve Cloud’ s established enterprise customer base with Wasabi’ s scalable infrastructure, global data centres and security innovations such as Covert Copy. Wasabi CEO David Friend said the company will prioritise seamless migration, strong support and enhanced capabilities for existing customers.
Seagate CFO Gianluca Romano said the move aligns with its strategy to focus on core mass-capacity storage, while ensuring Lyve Cloud users continue to receive highquality service.
Growing demand for AI, analytics and long-term data retention is driving enterprises to seek cost-efficient, predictable storage solutions. As datasets expand into petabyte scale, organisations are simplifying vendor ecosystems and prioritising performance, security and transparency.
The combined offering strengthens integration with leading backup providers including Veeam, Rubrik and Commvault, reducing complexity for customers and partners. It also reinforces Wasabi’ s role as an independent alternative to hyperscale cloud providers, delivering consistent pricing, simplified deployments and enterprisegrade performance at scale, supporting modern data protection and recovery needs.
The transaction is expected to accelerate innovation across storage management, security automation and AI-ready architectures, helping organisations unlock greater value from their data while maintaining control over costs and operational efficiency.
Wasabi, recognised as one of the world’ s fastest growing technology companies, will integrate Lyve Cloud capabilities quickly to ensure continuity and customer confidence throughout the transition. •
