CASE STUDY
Organisations should avoid making changes purely for perception or trend alignment. confidence and strengthened internal support for the partnership.
Where do you see this collaboration taking Silicon Labs in the future?
While we currently operate on-premises, maintaining our own data centre is not a viable long-term strategy. Our immediate focus is building a strong data architecture, which will then enable a future move to the cloud.
As we evaluate cloud migration, S / 4HANA or other ERP options, we see Rimini Street as a long-term partner that can support us at every stage. The relationship and expertise they bring give us confidence in navigating our ERP transformation on our own timeline.
What advice would you give to other CIOs considering thirdparty support?
CIOs should focus on core business outcomes: revenue growth, cost reduction, innovation, manufacturing yield and compliance.
If an ERP transformation does not clearly support these objectives, it may not be worth pursuing. Organisations should avoid making changes purely for perception or trend alignment.
If your current ERP system continues to deliver value, it is often better to maximise that investment and focus resources on initiatives that drive meaningful business impact.

What technical challenges did Silicon Labs face?
Like many organisations, Silicon Labs was dealing with technical debt and pressure to migrate in line with vendor timelines.
A key challenge across the industry is that organisations often align their strategies with vendor deadlines rather than business priorities, which can lead to unnecessary disruption and cost.
In this case, we helped Silicon Labs regain control of its roadmap, reducing technical debt, improving platform stability and enabling faster reporting capabilities.
How did Rimini Street support the implementation?
We began with Rimini Consult to define a clear ERP strategy. This evolved into a multi-system project aligning twelve SAP environments with modern standards.
Our approach is designed for organisations facing constraints around staffing, budget or timing. By providing end-to-end support, we helped Silicon Labs deliver results ahead of schedule while staying aligned with their objectives.
This success led to a long-term support agreement, delivering immediate cost savings and extending the lifespan of their SAP ECC system.
What future requirements do you anticipate in this partnership?
This is a long-term collaboration that will evolve alongside Silicon Labs’ transformation journey.
We expect to support initiatives including cloud migration, unified data platforms and AI-driven ERP innovation. Our focus is on enabling secure, resilient operations that can adopt new technologies without disruptive replatforming.
By prioritising agility, strong data foundations, and strategic flexibility, we aim to help Silicon Labs accelerate innovation while maintaining control over its transformation path. •
