Asylon secures US Air Force contract to advance autonomous aircraft inspection system

Asylon has secured a Phase Three contract from the Warner

Robins Air Logistics Complex( WR-ALC) to further develop, integrate and demonstrate its Multi-modal Autonomous Robotics for Inspection of Aircraft( MARIA) system for the US Air Force.
The award supports the introduction of autonomous, repeatable and unattended general visual inspection capabilities for Department of the Air Force aircraft, helping modernise maintenance operations while improving efficiency and safety.
Under the contract, Asylon will integrate its Guardian sUAS aerial platform, DroneDog Q-UGV ground robot, Range autonomy software and DroneIQ command-and-control and data visualisation platform. Together, the technologies will autonomously inspect aircraft and provide maintainers with results through a unified operational interface.
The company said the MARIA system is designed to accelerate inspection processes, improve the consistency of manual tasks and reduce risks associated with labour-intensive maintenance. Inspection data including imagery, LiDAR point-cloud information, telemetry and metadata will be presented through both 2D inspection workflows and 3D digital twin views to support faster decision-making.
The deployment represents the latest stage in Asylon’ s collaboration with the US Air Force and will establish a flagship implementation of MARIA at one of the service’ s leading sustainment facilities. The company believes the project could pave the way for wider adoption of autonomous aircraft inspection technologies across defence and maintenance operations.
Anthony McCarty, Senior Vice President of Government, Asylon, said the award demonstrated confidence in the company’ s autonomous air and ground robotic systems and their ability to deliver faster, safer and more consistent aircraft inspections for military maintainers.

New York City launches Public Interest Technology Crew to accelerate Digital Transformation

Teams of technologists are to work alongside New York

City agencies to tackle public problems with in-house digital solutions.
The first Public Interest Technology( PIT) Crew will team up with the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection( DCWP) to build an online portal that allows New Yorkers to easily file complaints against companies that trap customers in hard-to-cancel, costly subscriptions.
The tool will support the Mamdani administration’ s implementation of the nation’ s first“ Click to Cancel” protections.
The first PIT Crew will partner with the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to build an online complaints portal supporting New York’ s pioneering“ Click to Cancel” protections. The platform will help residents report companies that make subscriptions difficult to cancel.
Five PIT Crews will be established. One will support Click to Cancel, three will advance the administration’ s affordability and public excellence agenda and another will be backed by The Rockefeller Foundation through the Mayor’ s Fund to Advance New York City.
Each multidisciplinary team will include product managers, designers, engineers, user researchers and data experts working alongside agencies and residents to design, build and launch digital services within months rather than years.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the initiative would make government more responsive, easier to use and better equipped to solve real problems.
Experienced technologists are encouraged to apply to join a PIT Crew through the city’ s recruitment programme.
